The Apple iPhone 3G - O2's biggest phone of the year!

Due out later in July is a mobile phone destined to be the crown jewel of O2's product range. But can it really be as good as people say? Is the Apple iPhone 3G the one that will beat all other mobile phones?
Apple iPhone 3G - what makes it so special?
On June 9th, an announcement was made that made fans of mobile phones and Apple lovers in particular, go mad with excitement. It was nearly a year since the first iPhone had been released, and now, the newest version had just been announced. It's due to be released, on O2, on July 11th. But how does this new Apple iPhone 3G differ from other mobile phones? Well, first thing... it has an awesome 3.5 inch touchscreen, meaning that all the coolest features and awesome functions are available, quite literally, at your fingertips. And what control you have, as the Apple iPhone 3G is only the second device in the world of mobile phones to be built around the amazingly intuitive Apple OS-X. Only one other mobile phone came before it, and that was the first iPhone.
You may recall that there was a lot of criticism aimed at the first iPhone. Other mobile phones can outclass it, people said, other mobile phones do more than it. And at the time, despite the beautiful interface, they were bang on the money. Other mobile phones COULD outclass the iPhone, although, that's will be a lot more difficult to do with the Apple iPhone 3G, coming soon on O2. The big thing that the first iPhone didn't have was 3G, and that was where other, more established mobile phones won hands down. That's not an issue now, though, as the Apple iPhone 3G, as the name suggests, is now one of the mobile phones that DO have 3G. And crikey is it fast, as it uses HSDPA, allowing you to connect to the internet at up to 3Mbps. As well as that, you get GPS, and we should all understand how useful and invaluable that is!
Apple iPhone 3G - is it REALLY the future?
After the all the hype, is the Apple iPhone 3G really the new hope for mobile phones? Is it ACTUALLY that important? Well, it is, but maybe not in the way you think...
You see, the Apple iPhone 3G is, similar to its predecessor, flawed. It's not all great, and whilst that can apply to most mobile phones, in the case of the Apple iPhone 3G, it's being hyped up as the ultimate phone. However, if you choose just ONE feature, the camera, you'll see that in that specific field it's average at best, and at worst, total rubbish. In the present world of mobile phones with cameras built in, that's a very bad thing. With that in mind, if it's flawed, why is the Apple iPhone 3G so important? Well, it's simply because the Apple iPhone 3G, coming soon on O2, has forced other mobile phones to up their game. So, people like Nokia and Sony Ericsson are really battling to make up ground, and take the fight to this usurper. That's why it's important: the Apple iPhone 3G is making people make better mobile phones, and hey, that can only be a good thing for us, hasn't it!
