Is Head To Head Statistics A Must In Football Betting?

By: Fantasy

Although there are some football punters who bet for fun, most bet for wins and money. As a punter, you need to have good predictions to decide on a given pick. Your instinct should be strong and reliable. For most punters, they rely on head to head statistics to help them decide which team to bet on.

Statistics can show you the team and individual player standing. It will give you data about the teams’ performance on their previous matches. Punters base their bet decision on head to head statistics. The idea is that the team with a good performance record compared to the other will most likely win, thus, you should bet for that team.

There are some football bettors that are skeptical about using head to head statistics or HTHs in football betting. But this doesn’t change the fact that majority of football bettors are into HTHs usage. Is there really a value in using head to head statistics to gauge or predict the outcome of a football match?

How Reliable Is Head To Head Statistics

Are those using head to head statistics in football betting on the right track towards higher wins? Will the team’s previous performance record affect its current performance? How can statistics predict the outcome of the team’s succeeding matches?

A particular football team may have good performance record but that doesn’t guarantee a win on their other matches. There are other factors that affect the outcome of a game. If the players are not in proper condition during a game, they won’t win even if head to head statistics point to that team as the potential winner. Other factors can be the field or location of the match, the commitment of the player to win and the standing of the opposing team.

Although statistics on previous performances can help, football bettors can not solely rely on them. They will help you come up with a decision as to what team to bet on but don’t make it the only determining factor for your bet. As you look at the previous performances of a team, try to open your eyes at its present condition as well.

Don’t bet your money on a particular team just because they were good in their last game. What guarantee do you have that they will be good on a current match? There is no guarantee in football betting but it is better that at least you are on the betting side with a higher chance of winning. Smart football punters would not put all their eggs in one basket. You should do the same, don’t decide on a football bet on one criterion alone.
