Information About effective Article Marketing

By: Martin Travis

Article marketing if done correctly can be a very powerful promotional and advertising resource, as it allows you to reach prospective customers in a number of ways. This might be people subscribing to your opt in list or newsletter or visiting your content page through a link. If you follow the right path this can be achieved very quickly and on a large scale. Article marketing as a means of website promotion has been and continues to be very popular. It gives you the opportunity to showcase your knowledge of a particular area of interest. At the same time, you are able to give to your readers useful and entertaining information and best of all it is free of charge.

When writing your article your prime goal should be to inform and educate your readers. If you can identify a common problem and provide a solution, your article will be read many times. If you can repeat this process several times you are on the way to being regarded as an expert on the subject, which is obviously a desirable goal. When writing an article for distribution you need to be aware of your target audience. If you know someone who is interested in the subject try and write as if you were explaining it to them face to face. A good approach is to adopt a conversational style of writing as if you were trying to explain something to a friend.

You may decide to purchase the rights to articles that allow you to claim authorship. It may be that others are using the same content or variations on it, but all said and done your resource box is added to the foot of the article. There are a large number of directories that will allow you to submit your article, even if it isn't 100% original. This is fine for quick exposure but it is always better to write your own unique content if possible.

A common mistake when writing articles is to include content that does nothing to help the readers. These types of articles are often thinly disguised sales pitches. They tend to be loaded with affiliate and deep links and do not answer any questions or provide any useful information. Their sole purpose is to increase traffic to the spammer's website.

A well written and cleverly thought out resource box can make all the difference in determining the level of website traffic that your article will generate. Your full name should be included in the resource box so it is clear that you are the author of the article and it is your knowledge and expertise on show. The more articles you write, the more well known your name will become. You then need to provide a web link to direct the reader to further content that is directly related to the body of the article.

Try to keep your reader interested from start to finish. From your opening paragraph, use real life situations that the reader can relate to. Use good descriptions and metaphors to emphasise your point. Include interesting and relevant facts and figures where appropriate, as this will help to give authority to your article. You should Use questions and statements that include keywords that readers are searching for. Titles or headers should describe your articles content whilst at the same time being short and concise.

A certain level of patience is required with article marketing. It takes time for your work to filter through the system and start producing results. There is a common tendency for people to have a go at article marketing only give up after a short period. Many article directories have a backlog of articles to review which can cause delay and it can often take several weeks for the search engines to index and list your articles.

The best strategy when starting is to submit a large amount of original work to as many different directories as possible. This can involve a lot of hard work in the beginning and you will need to set daily or weekly targets to gradually build up a large body of articles in circulation. It is very important that you persevere with this to achieve your long term goals.
